BIOG brief Vinny Peculiar , famously christened the Tony hancock of pop by UNCUT MAGAZINE, is the pseudonym of Alan Wilkes; a Manchester based performance poet and songwriter who’s bands have vicariously included members of the Smiths, the Fall and OASIS. Vinny has also collabrated with Bill Drummond [KLF] on his SOUP LINE project; he’s toured the theatres and concert halls of Europe opening for the likes of Arab Strap and The Divine Comedy and is a regular compere/performer at the Glastonbury Festival Acoustic Stage.
